Have you ever felt a shift inside—the kind that helps you see a situation more clearly or open up to a new perspective on life? Sometimes it might be sudden and profound–one of those “aha” moments in life. Other times it might be more gentle, yet still deep and impactful.
Reaching those moments don’t necessarily require weeks, months or years in therapy or coaching. Sometimes that realization or inner shift can come in one well-timed session.
In my work, I don’t value single sessions any differently than I do repeated sessions. It’s always about what you need in the moment, and sometimes, one session is all it takes to spark a profound change.
What we will cover in this blog:
Healing Takes Time
It’s important to acknowledge that healing isn’t usually a fast process. Yes, breakthroughs can happen, but we move at the pace our systems can handle—and that’s often slower than we’d like. I’ve personally tried (and even trained in) a variety of modalities and found that while many techniques are helpful, they’re typically part of a longer overall journey. There is no magic bullet, no single modality that guarantees healing for everyone. We try things, see how they help, take in what is useful, and keep going.
A Single Session Can Be Life-Changing
There’s a common assumption that a single appointment can’t go as “deep” as ongoing therapy or coaching, but that simply isn’t always true. Yes, multiple sessions can provide progressive layers of insight. But I’ve seen people have breakthroughs and personal “aha” moments in just one meeting—where they find the clarity, hope, or forward momentum they need to take that next step in their healing journey.
I often witness this through referrals: a client may only come for one session, find it helpful, and then recommend their son, daughter, or friend. That initial, singular experience can be enough to spark a meaningful transformation—and become a testament to how impactful one session can truly be.
You Decide What You Need
I strongly believe in each person’s ability to determine what feels right for them. We are all on a journey toward healing and wholeness (if we choose to be!), and there are seasons in life where seeking support is tremendously helpful. Just as I personally reach out to my own team of therapists, coaches, or practitioners when something comes up for me and I need support, I encourage my clients to do the same.
That’s why, in my consultations and at the close of each full session, I remind clients they can take as little or as much of my support as feels right for them. They decide what they need; not me. From the very beginning, I aim to create an environment where a client’s body, mind, and intuition lead the way. My role is simply to facilitate a safe space for listening to those signals.

Exploring Alternatives and Trusting Your Timing
If you’re considering any modality but feel uncertain, you might ask a potential coach or practitioner if you can do just one or two sessions to see how it lands. Some practitioners require packages, but it never hurts to ask if there’s a single-session option. Sometimes trying new methods can provide an unexpected breakthrough or incremental shift, and that alone can be worth it.
Remember, you (or aspects of yourself) may or may not feel ready for a certain modality. Honoring that readiness is crucial. You’re not missing out if it doesn’t feel right just yet. Healing is a long game and timing matters.
Why I Don’t Sell “Packages”
I’ll be honest: I’m not a fan of packages or long-term coaching contracts or containers.
I have personally signed up for packages and long-term containers with practitioners where I end up having one or two sessions that are helpful, but then I am ready to move on or have gotten what I needed, but because of the agreement or terms, I'm stuck working in a situation that no longer feels valuable. For me, that feels restrictive or even disrespectful to my process.
I understand why so many coaches choose package deals—consistent income, streamlined bookkeeping, etc.—but it doesn’t fit my style. I believe in honoring the organic flow of each individual’s journey. When a client feels ready to move on, they should have the freedom to do just that without any contractual strings attached.

Empowerment Through Choice
Having flexibility and choice in how you engage with support is incredibly empowering. It models what it means to embody your own wisdom. Throughout our sessions, I might ask questions like:
“How does that land for you?”
“What do you notice inside yourself when you think about that?”
“Does this make sense?”
And I’ll often tell folks it's OK not to know. It’s perfectly alright to sit with these questions or not have an immediate answer. I’m here and will remain available, but the invitation is always up to you to accept or decline. This open, adaptable approach reinforces the idea that you are your own best guide, capable of recognizing and meeting your own needs. I’m here. I’m available, and you are free to take in as little or as much of my support as feels good to you.
Moving Forward with Clarity
Whether it’s one session or many, I trust that you know your own path best. My role is to create a supportive space where you can access that inner wisdom and explore whatever feels relevant at the moment. If that happens in a single session, fantastic! If you decide to return for longer or more deeply focused work, I welcome that, too. Ultimately, you are the one in the driver’s seat of your healing journey.
If you’ve been wondering whether a single session could make a difference, my invitation is simple: trust yourself. You may be just one conversation away from a crucial turning point in your life. And I’ll be here, ready to support you whenever you decide you need it.
